Obama in Denver

(Community Matters) Over 100k showed up for Obama today in Denver

Lieberman

(Community Matters) Senator Joe Lieberman seems to be back tracking pretty quickly. In my less uncharitable moments, I think we should welcome him back to the fold – either as an independent or a Democrat – yet he’s got to give up his chairmanship.

Buses of Austinites to the Battleground States

(Community Matters) Can you believe it’s only 9 days away?

I know many of you have given, some of you have given big. And, here at the end, I’m wondering if you’d consider helping others give their time, sweat and shoe soles in a battleground state. We’re raising money to send 400 volunteers (8 buses) to Ohio, New Mexico, Indiana, Florida and Colorado.

Please consider supporting these 400 volunteers who’ll work very long days next weekend through the election. A $1k in-kind contribution (buses cost $5k each) will help ensure our wins in a hotly contested battle ground state.

Thanks for considering. Please join Steven and me in financing this army of volunteers.

(p.s., These contributions will be handled as in-kind contributions by our Obama fundraising staff. Donors will have to sign in-kind contribution forms and will receive Obama Victory Fund credit)

Anchorage Daily News Endorses Obama

Sen. Barack Obama, the Democratic nominee, brings far more promise to the office. In a time of grave economic crisis, he displays thoughtful analysis, enlists wise counsel and operates with a cool, steady hand. The same cannot be said of Sen. McCain.

Sen. McCain describes himself as a maverick, by which he seems to mean that he spent 25 years trying unsuccessfully to persuade his own party to follow his bipartisan, centrist lead. Sadly, maverick John McCain didn’t show up for the campaign. Instead we have candidate McCain, who embraces the extreme Republican orthodoxy he once resisted and cynically asks Americans to buy for another four years.
