(Community Matters) Super duper day today. Started out over breakfast with Haylie Rudy (my bad, forgot to take a picture) at one of our favorite spots, Kramer Bookstore Cafe. Haylie is working for Senator Menendez at the DSCC. So enjoyed catching up; looking forward to meeting her boyfriend when I’m back in a couple of weeks.
Then, to meet Sonya Cohen Cramer & Dio Cramer at the National Portrait Gallery – their idea where to meet. Perfect, especially since Kevin Keim had urged me to check out the renovation of the old patent office. Thought I’d taken pictures of the renovation. Wish I had. Extraordinary.
Regrettably Gabel at home with poison ivy and Reid stayed behind tending him – plus roasting coffee – he also brews kambucha and beer. Oh yeah, I didn’t realize Reid been promoted @ the New America Foundation. Looking forward to hearing more over dinner tomorrow night.
Toured the DOE’s 2009 Solar Decathalon, where 20 universities compete to design, build, and operate the most attractive, effective, and energy-efficient solar-powered house.
