(Community Matters) Stefano Aluffi is an old friend of Suzanne’s and obviously knows everyone in the art world and social scene in Rome. My right-side dinner companion Wednesday night whispered that he’s really a count (she’s actually a princess).
Stefano (at center in picture) hosted a very small group of American Academy supporters in his home for lunch yesterday.
I especially loved the library. And, when talking about the Tiber, he whips out a book studying the river and the flooding in Rome, though I’m pretty sure flood remediation has changed since its 1744 published date.
I was haunted not figuring out who Stefano reminded me of in this picture – Misha! He runs a company, A Private View of Italy, which arranges unique and private access tours. He’s also been in Austin, having stayed in the Sam Houston suite at the governors mansion for nearly a week.
