(Community Matters) I met Frank Loy on the streets of Washington one day, unexpected attended an event for EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson at his home that evening, prodded his wife Dale Loy about a mesmerizing painting in their home (which as it turns out she painted) and now, fortunately, bump into them often when I’m in DC. What a treat when I found out they keep a home in Rome and would be here during my visit.
I love their apartment very near the Piazza de Farnese and the French Embassy where I joined them and a friend, Jonathan Nadler, for drinks before accompanying them to dinner at a favorite trattoria just down the street.
After meeting Dale & Frank that first night, they were sweet enough to invite me back to their home for tea. Turned out we have several mutual friends – they were in a walking group with Suzanne & David Booth when they all lived in Rome, Frank’s on the Nature Conservancy Board with Tommie Meredith, and they had dinner with the entire Kirk/Amy Rudy family in Philadelphia during the Pennsylvania primary.
I think I’ve found an apartment for mine & Steven’s one month Rome visit during this year’s holidays.
