Silverton Partners Open House

(Community Matters) Bill Wood, Morgan Flager and now Kip McClanahan from  Silverton Partners always have one of the most anticipated events of the year.  Tonight included everyone – especially entertainment by Alejandro Escovedo.

Steven and I also enjoyed connecting with Kim & Kyle Hughes, Bill & Cindi Bock, Mike Maples, Necip Sayiner, Shawn Bose, Justin Petro, Andy & Karen White, Jason Black, Zach Lynde, Phil & Lauren Siegel, Rodney Gibbs, Tommy Daevenport, Mike Turner and lots others

Scary

(Community Matters) from my neighbors . . . and we’ve never had any issues in Aldridge Place.  Steven’s always on to me about not locking the house, about leaving doors and windows open.  Okay, I’m convinced and am engaging the alarm system

Came home from grocery shopping.  Brought bags in.  Left front door open b’cause all hands were busy w/ bags and purse.

Dropped purse in living room recliner.  Took bags to kitchen, set them down, put refrigerator and freezer items away.  Went back to living room for purse.  It was gone.  Never heard anything.  At all.

Called police.  They reported more than one such occurrences.  Including those where folks were followed home from grocery stores.  And those where purses near a window were spirited away.  I was lucky.  Purse (minus cash only) was discovered somewhere along Waller Creek.

Have also experienced a break-in years ago where (I truly believe) the workmen at the property separated from mine by my fence were the perpetrators.  The fence is tall.  Gates were locked.  Back door and storm door were locked.  But burglars gained access anyway.  Very easy.  I left at same time every day.  Never returned til late in the evening.  So.  Climb over fence, yank storm door open, break glass pane in door proper, and enter.  With no danger of detection.
