(Community Matters) Dr. Tom Gilligan from University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business appointed as the McCombs School of Business’ new dean. I’d been hearing from faculty that they’d been diluted in the search process and expected an outsider. New blood probably perfect at this time. George is leaving well financed departments with which Dean Gilligan should be able to build on successes.

“been diluted in the process”?I think it is good to get some new blood in there once in a while. I remember when Bob May stepped down I thought for sure they would appoint an outsider to the Dean’s role, and was somewhat surprised when they didn’t.
