St. James’ Jazz Sunday

(Community Matters) The jazz celebration started on Friday and ran all weekend, though we were only able to participate Sunday during services.

Jazz at St. James celebrated its 14th year, again this year under the leadership of our dear friend Keith Braithwaite. Pamela Hart and David ‘Fathead’ Newman played both Friday and Saturday night, with special guests each night.

Yesterday’s 10:15 service included Fathead accompanied by Curtis Fuller who played with Miles Davis, James Polk, Michael Stevens and Cadino Newman

UAW

(Community Matters) Can they not read the tea leaves? The US United Auto Workers (UAW) union has ruled out concessions – at least for the time being – to help rescue the ailing Detroit-based car industry.” Nails in the coffin. Their contracts not worth the paper they are written on in bankruptcy.
