Mobile Loaves & Fishes, RISE and KDK-Harman Board

(Community Matters) Yesterday didn’t start out too well, but it got much better as the day went on. Second breakfast with Alan Graham of Mobile Loaves & Fishes to learn more about his micro-enterprise program. Creative thoughts about how to assist the chronically homeless with opportunities to earn an income, even given their traditional unemployability due to often mental illness and chemical dependency. I like Alan’s idea and plans for beta testing – no opinion on viaibility, but that’s what beta is for.

Third breakfast meeting with Amanda and Marion, discussing our Corporate Social Responsibility Opportunity conference in late February. These two are rock stars.

RISE
– Susie Sosa, Annie Frierson, Amanda and I met to discuss 2009 plans for RISE – Relationship and Information Series for Entrepreneurs. MPower and the Sosa’s again placing great care and support into this very cool program which generated over 70 sessions last year. Plans to double the series this year. EF is definitely in again. thanks, you guys

KDK Harman Foundation – what a treat to spend a couple of hours with this group of very smart staff and fellow board members. Also, doesn’t hurt to end a day granting $400k to worthy nonprofits.
