A.B. Porter

(Community Matters) A.B. Porter is a name Steven and I created. Since we don’t share a last name, we wanted a “brand” that stood for us & “our family.”

A.B. stands for my aunt Abie, who was a great woman and inspiration in my life. She taught me about grassroots organizing and taking care of neighbors. Porter is the maiden name of Steven’s maternal grandmother – who similarly taught him a great deal, including how to ballroom dance.

people need to figure this one out quickly. Seems we risk WWIII here – not to mention the increased nationalism cited, which appears increasingly a global problem.

an Artist Talk by Suzanne Bocanegra starring Paul Lazar

(Community Matters) from Fusebox founder, artistic director Ron Berry:

Some context for the Suzanne Bocanegra/Paul Lazar piece that might be helpful:

Suzanne was commissioned by MoMa in NYC to give an artist talk.  She decided it would be fun to get Paul Lazar (one of her favorite actors from NYC) to do the talk for her, or with her to be more precise.  He is absolutely one of my favorite actors working today.  Amazing/wonderful.

It is a brilliant, hilarious, wonderful show.  And a strange, wonderful take on the artist talk.
