(Community Matters) The Pirate Queen & Six Other Gravures by Julie Speed, current exhibit at Flatbed Press. Last night was the artist’s opening, so of course Julie & Fran were in town.
The opening was very well attended. Lots of friends, though I wasn’t able to stay long – preparing for a casual dinner at our place after with Julie, Fran and several of their friends and our mutual friends including Flatbed owners: Mark Smith & Katherine Brimberry (& husband Mike); Flatbed printers: Tracy Mayrello and Clarke Curtis; Tana & Joe Christie, Rudy Green & Joyce Christian. Total treat: Hank Cathey mixed specialty cocktails – the Diablo seems to have been the favorite, along with Margaritas, Tom Collins & Old Fashions (more on the menu just what I saw ordered).
