The Republican Nominee

(Community Matters) The Republican nominee feels like Newt Gingrich. The predicted eventuality of Romney still doesn’t feel right – he seems to top out at 25% and no one really likes him. Trump, Bachmann, Perry and Cain – all clowns. Newt – feels right, like a well worn sweater. I know, I know, how could the poster boy for hypocrisy . . . . really people? Didn’t those of us opposed just know GWB couldn’t be reelected? We don’t see, smell or taste with their eyes, noses or tongues. All sins are forgiven (after all, they are just human failings) if they meet the voters’ narrative. Barring seismic revelations, I predict we’re running against Newt . . . and his electability should not be underestimated.

Anyone else have trouble staying awake while reading about Romney in Times Sunday Magazine? Kerry de ja vu

this should  be read with the knowledge that I’m a horrible predictor of election results

  1. I would never claim to think like a Republican, but thinking back to the equivalent period in Dems history (i.e. 2004), I was pro-Dean but accepted Kerry as the ‘safe’ candidate in an election we couldn’t lose (belts and braces, as they say over here). I still think Romney, but I am afraid he’ll actually win, as times are different now and I’m not sure Obama can get as dirty as the Bushies did.
