(Community Matters) At tonight’s Stonewall Democrats meeting in San Antonio, I’m told Congressman Doggett said my comments in a recent article were slanderous.
Congressman Doggett, what constitutes slander? Is it not true you took 5 yrs to co-sponsor ENDA? That you voted for DOMA? That it took months of convincing to secure your support for the repeal of DA/DT? That you still don’t support equality in marriage? I still remember you saying same sex marriage will NEVER be equal to yours and Libby’s.
I’m not a one issue voter, but I hope my friends will consider how they’d expect me to vote if you held in-the-heart feelings supporting discrimination against Jews, Blacks, Hispanics, Women or any other group. Our friends will stand with me & Steven when politicians deny our constitutional equality.
