The Fiscal Cliff

(Community Matters)  Yesterday’s GOP counterproposal changes the probabilities. I now think there’s a higher probability they could avoid the fiscal cliff.

The numbers Republicans proposed are much closer than expected – closer to 1:1 revenues and cuts. The reliability of the tax code reform revenues and the willingness to accept some rate increase appear to be the defining provisions in negotiations.

VISA Incentives

Kudos to the Chamber, especially it’s Opportunity Austin – and, the game is changing. Taxpayers are demanding fewer and better returns for giving away tax dollars – not always where Ds and Rs come together but we ought to celebrate it.
