Serious Allegations – completely unsubstantiated and worthy of investigation

(Community Matters) Wow, I have no idea if this is true and it certainly deserves to be investigated:

a comment posted in the AAS under their article about the Beth Shalom invitation:

razagavino1:The Austin Diocese needs to be consistent in its application of purity, if you will. My nephew was kidnapped by the current Pastor of Cristo Rey Catholic Church in East Austin, in 1996 while he was serving as Director Of Youth Ministery. In 1996, this Priest took my nephew who was 16 years old from Cristo Rey Church grounds around 10:00pm to a University of Texas parking lot without the permission of his parents. Thanks to the University of Texas Police that they caught him in this dark parking lot on the the U.T. campus with my nephew before any sexual activity occured. My nephew filed a complaint with Austin Diocese and Bishop Vasquez ruled that because there was no sexual contact, there would be no action taken against this Priest. Yet, he kidnapped him. Further, the Bishop refused to meet with my nephew or any family member regarding this incident. So Cristo Rey Church Parishioners, beware of your teen age youth who attend Cristo Rey church , your child may be kidnapped! And Bishop Vasquez [*], believes that’s okay. Only anglos from catholic church who complain to the Bishop get his attention. But because my nephew is Mexican-American and from East Austin, the hell with your compliant. East Austin family still in shock!

Again, I have no idea if this is true.  Just read it in the comments.

*I don’t believe the reference to Bishop Vasquez is correct since he just assumed this role in the Austin Diocese.  At that time, Bishop Gregory Aymond presided over the diocese.
