Job Title: Project manager, Lemonade Day Austin

Lemonade Day Austin is a fun, free, city-wide educational program that helps youth set up and operate lemonade stands. Lemonade Day is on Sunday, May 1, 2011. Lemonade Day Austin’s Project Manager is responsible for: coordinating and overseeing registration at designated registration events; recruiting and overseeing volunteers at events; coordinating with City of Austin, nonprofit organizations, and participating schools; helping represent Lemonade Day Austin in the community, and assisting the Lemonade Day Austin Director with other initiatives and responsibilities.  Reports to: Lemonade Day Austin Director.

Qualities/qualifications needed: Self starter, community-minded, detail oriented and able to juggle numerous projects at one time.  Excellent oral and written communication skills required.  Ability to work in a team-based environment, facilitate group meetings and manage projects.  Mastery of Excel, Word and other day-to-day office management programs essential. Lifting and moving heavy boxes is required. Spanish speaking is a plus.

This opportunity is a contract position (no benefits):

Specific Responsibilities Include:

  • Coordinate and execute registration at upcoming events (Jan-May 2011).
  • Recruit and manage volunteers for upcoming events.
  • Request and mail payment to all vendors.
  • Assist Director with maintaining communication with nonprofit organizations, Community Partners and Schools.
  • Online database maintenance of volunteers, events, registration numbers and website updates.
  • Distribution of educational materials to participating nonprofit organizations, Community Partners and Schools.
  • Maintain updated registration numbers at all times.

Indicators of Success

The Lemonade Day Austin Project Manager will be evaluated on:

  • Meeting or exceeding 10,000 youth registered.
  • Exceeding 23% conversion rate (i.e. how many youth set up lemonade stands on Lemonade Day).
  • Satisfaction of sponsors, community partners, schools and volunteers.
  • Administration of delegated responsibilities and other leadership roles as agreed upon.

Salary range: $2,000/mo October – January 2011. $3,500/mo January – May 2011. Bonus awarded in May 2011; based on meeting the Indicators of Success above and approval by The Entrepreneurs Foundation CEO and Board of Directors.
